We're pretty much all in agreement that we've never needed the wholesome content of the Great British Bake Off [1] more, and that time has finally arrived.

Despite delays due to COVID-19, Britain's best amateur bakers will once again gather in the tent hoping to prove (sorry not sorry) their technical bakes and showstoppers are enough to earn them the coveted title of Star Baker. This year, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will return as judges, and Noel Fielding will return as cohost along with comedian Matt Lucas, who is replacing Sandi Toksvig as cohost. [2]

Knowing we aren't good with change when it comes to our beloved GBBO, Channel 4 producers have promised us that Bake Off won't be dissimilar from past series', despite challenges faced by the pandemic. Filming for the new series of GBBO began at the end of July, and it was reported that all contestants and crew had to quarantine for 14 days prior to filming.

Great British Bake Off will air on Channel 4 on 22 Sept. at 8pm. So, without further ado, let's meet the 2020 Great British Bake Off contestants:

2. Dave, 30-year-old security guard from Hampshire
3. Linda, 61-year-old retirement-living team leader from East Sussex
4. Loriea, 27-year-old diagnostic radiographer from Durham
5. Makbul, 51-year-old accountant from Greater Manchester
6. Sura, 31-year-old pharmacy dispenser from London
7. Marc, 51-year-old bronze resin sculptor from Leicester, now living in Cornwall
8. Laura, 31-year-old digital manager from Kent
9. Mark, 32-year-old public-health project worker from Northern Ireland, now living in Liverpool
10. Peter, 20-year-old accounting and finance student from Edinburgh
11. Lottie, 31-year-old pantomime producer from West Sussex
12. Rowan, 55-year-old music teacher from Worcestershire
