We're pretty sure there were no dry eyes in the room when Hailee Steinfeld performed her song, "Wrong Direction [1]," for the first time ever on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert [2] on Monday night. After debuting the single in January, the 23-year-old singer bared her heart on stage as she belted out the lyrics to the ballad. "I performed wrong direction for the first time tonight on @colbertlateshow," Steinfeld wrote on Instagram shortly after [3]. "I didn't expect it to be as hard as it was . . . the second I starting singing, I felt like my heart stopped. Hurt so good."
"Wrong Direction" is Steinfeld's first single since the 2019 release of "Afterlife [4]." While she has yet to officially announce a new album, many fans believe "Wrong Direction" is aimed at her ex-boyfriend, Niall Horan. Watch Steinfeld's performance above.
