Hailee Steinfeld "Wrong Direction" Song

Hailee Steinfeld's New Song Is Called "Wrong Direction" — and It Might Be About Niall Horan

Hailee Steinfeld started off the new year by releasing a new single that's already left fans speculating. After teasing the song via Instagram on Dec. 29, the 23-year-old Dickinson actress released "Wrong Direction" on New Year's Day, and many listeners believe that she's directly addressing her past relationship with One Direction alum Niall Horan in it.

Steinfeld and Horan dated for about a year before officially ending things in December 2018. Before dropping "Wrong Direction," she posted a cryptic photo to her Instagram Story earlier this week letting her followers know that she was "thankful for all the lessons, the love, the heartbreak, & the memories" from 2019. Steinfeld has yet to confirm the actual inspiration behind the song, though fans have already taken the title and lyrics about moving on after a relationship and jumped to their own conclusions. In the song, she sings, "I don't hate you. No, I couldn't if I wanted to. I just hate all the hurt that you put me through." Listen to the song for yourself above.
