The Pearson Family Is Back! Here's What to Remember About This Is Us Season 4

Things end on a positive note for Kate. Her and Toby happily celebrate Jack's first birthday after experiencing a tough year navigating his special needs. They visit the NICU to post a family photo on the Wall of Fame. While leaving the hospital, the couple decides they're ready to give Jack a sibling and make plans to adopt a baby. Things seem to eventually work out — a glimpse into the future shows a grown up Jack celebrating the birth of his first baby, with a visit from someone we presume is his sister.

Randall was the first Pearson family member to notice Rebecca's memory problems. He takes her mild cognitive impairment diagnosis pretty hard and pressures her to do the clinical trial. Randall ends up having a major fight with Kevin over this and the two say hurtful things to each other. Randall says their dad died feeling ashamed of Kevin, while Kevin says the worst day of his life when Randall was brought home from the hospital. A flash forward into the future shows the brothers somewhat civil, but we'll have to see how this intense blowout pans out it in season five. Let's hope we finally get to hear Beth's take on everything that's happened, since she hasn't been too up front with her feelings about the whole situation.

Viewers have seen Uncle Nicky and Kevin grow closer throughout season four. He ends up congratulating Kevin on his one year of sobriety, but what's most intriguing about his ending happens in the flash forward. When Nicky visits Rebecca, he has a ring on his wedding finger! Hopefully season five will quickly tell us what this means.

Things have been going well for Beth and Randall during season four, but the finale shows us they might not be on the same page about Rebecca going to do the clinical trial. There's some clear hesitance from Beth when Randall brings up the trial. While she's being supportive, Beth voices her concern over the tactics Randall has used to get his mother to change her mind. Hopefully we'll hear a more honest opinion from Beth about everything that's happened when season five arrives.
