It's been one month since HBO's Amy Gravitt announced that Insecure will end after season five [1], and in true breakup fashion, we're looking through all the photos we can find to get us through it. On Feb. 11, photos surfaced of Issa Rae and Kendrick Sampson on set in Los Angeles. The photos show their characters, Issa and Nathan, cuddled up on a city bench and sharing a laugh, a notable turning point for the couple.
In season four, Nathan returned after an unexpected disappearance, revealing that he "didn't just disappear," but was diagnosed with bipolar disorder [2] and had been taking the time to see a therapist. After Issa voiced her support for Nathan, the pair said they appreciated each other, but left the status of their relationship up for speculation in the show's final season. Are they reminiscing on the good times? Making up as friends? Looks like we'll have to wait to find out.
"This talented team has conceived a brilliant final season for Insecure and we look forward to having many more stories to tell with this singular group of collaborators," Gravitt said in a statement.
