Russell T Davis's new series It's A Sin has finally landed on Channel 4 and it's brought an excellent soundtrack with it. The series follows a young friendship group living in London through the '80s, and while it starts as an upbeat glimpse into their lives (where they're generally having a great time), it soon switches gears as it portrays the very real and devastating impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic within the LGBT+ community.

Speaking with Lorraine on 20 Jan. Olly Alexander (who plays the lead, Richie in the show) explained how iconic the music of the '80s was and how crucial it was for the show. The soundtrack is, of course, a reflection of the many layers of the show, from the synth-filled Pet Shop Boys song that inspired that name It's A Sin in the first place to uplifting beats and deep, dark songs that punctuate the heartbreaking moments of the show.

That all translates to a soundtrack that has a song for every occasion. There's a few to pep you up and some that hit you right in the feels and may induce a cathartic cry. Meanwhile, bangers like "Tainted Love" and "Karma Charmeleon" supply all of the nostalgia you could want and need in a retro, '80s playlist.

You can listen to the It's A Sin soundtrack on Spotify or ahead.
