Could everyone, like, chill for a sec? We now have even more information about the possibility of a "Freaky Friday" sequel, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan both hinting they've been holding out hope for a reboot.

In a 10 May interview with The New York Times, tied to the film's 20th anniversary, Curtis shared that she initially started thinking about a sequel during the "Halloween Ends" press tour. "People wanted to know if there was going to be another 'Freaky Friday.' Something really touched a chord," she said. "When I came back, I called my friends at Disney and said, 'It feels like there's a movie to be made.'"

Lohan also seemed to support the idea wholeheartedly, but whereas Curtis may have already started to pull some strings, Lohan is leaving the final decision up to the studios. "Jamie and I are both open to that, so we're leaving it in the hands that be," she told the Times. "We would only make something that people would absolutely adore."

Lohan initially spoke to Jimmy Fallon about another "Freaky Friday" in November 2022, saying it's something she had already talked about with Curtis. "We did speak about it, yeah," Lohan said. "I was on set filming at the time, and Jamie Lee Curtis writes you, and you just get excited and distracted immediately, so I had to bring myself back down to earth," she continued. "And then she said, 'Freaky Friday 2,' and I got [even] more excited." It took a bit more pressing from Fallon for Lohan to finally admit that she was equally interested in the idea of a follow-up film. "We would both be into it," she said.

The month before, in October 2022, Curtis also opened up about the potential sequel. At a "Halloween Ends" press stop in Mexico City, she admitted that she would "absolutely" want to do a follow-up film. "Lindsay Lohan and I are friends," Curtis explained to the crowd after she was asked whether she would ever be open to a sequel. "She texted me the other day." Curtis added, "Anyway, 'Freaky Friday' remake? Absolutely."

With Lohan having recently made her return to acting, it could only be a matter of time before we see Tess and Anna Coleman reunited on the big screen.
