Once you're part of the American Idol [1] family, you're there for life [2], a fact that Kelly Clarkson [3] proved (again [4]) with her latest awe-inspiring music cover on Kellyoke [5]. The daytime talk-show host pulled out a classic bop from her fellow Idol winner Carrie Underwood [6] for the Oct. 2 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show [7], performing "Before He Cheats" to the delight of her audience.
No one can get the blood pumping quite like Underwood can on the megahit single, but Clarkson's rendition definitely has us reaching for a Louisville slugger. And that high note she spins out toward the end? A pitch-hitting queen! We know we say it practically every time Clarkson hits a cover out of the park [8] (I hope you're appreciating these baseball puns), but damn if we wouldn't be pleased as punch if the two Idol winners teamed up for a duet one day. Imagine the vocal power? Whew.
