Lady Gaga Sings Sweet Tribute to Healthcare Workers For One World Special Performance

Mother Monster has a beautiful message for her fans and she delivered it with an iconic cover.

On Saturday, April 18, Lady Gaga kicked off the One World: Together At Home special with a performance of Charlie Chaplin's classic tune, "Smile," on her piano from the comfort of her home. Before her performance the 34-year-old "Stupid Love" singer, whom host Jimmy Fallon noted "put this entire evening together," took a moment to address viewers and thank them for watching.

"I feel very honoured to be part of the World Health Organisation and Global Citizen in the fight against COVID-19 and raising money for the solidarity response fund. I care so much about all of the medical workers that are putting their lives at risk for us right now," she said. "I think of them every day, I pray for them every day and I'm also thinking about all of you at home, who are wondering when all of this will be different. What I'd like to do tonight, if I can, is just give you the permission to, for a moment, smile."

The One World: Together At Home special is the first-of-its-kind global broadcast event dedicated to the healthcare workers working on the front lines to fight the COVID-19 outbreak. The special featured celebrities like Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Elton John, Kacy Musgraves, and more, who pitched in to celebrate and support the healthcare workers by featuring their stories; the commitments philanthropists have made; and uplift the spirits of people around the globe.
