Lady Gaga Postpones Chromatica Release Due to Coronavirus Outbreak: "It Just Doesn't Feel Right"

OK, so we've been calling the album LG6 since that's what Gaga tweeted in 2019, but that was just a filler title. On March 2, Gaga officially announced that the album will be titled Chromatica. In an interview with Zane Lowe, Gaga revealed that BloodPop was actually the one that came up with the title. "We talked about how Chromatica was essentially on its own when you first look at it, it seems to be about colours and all the different colours and also music is made of a chromatic scale, you know?" she said. "So it's all the colours, all the sounds, you know, so we, we're talking about inclusivity and life and also a lot of what we see around us."

"For me sound is what healed me in my life period, and it healed me again making this record, and that is really what Chromatica is all about," Gaga continued. "It's about healing and it's about bravery as well, and it's really like, when we talk about love I think it's so important to include the fact that it requires a ton of bravery to love someone."

Here's where things get especially exciting. As much as we've enjoyed "Shallow"-era Gaga, we're fully prepared for Mother Monster's campy, eccentric footprints to stomp all over our playlists. According to Gaga, Chromatica is going to sound like a big party.

"We are definitely dancing," she said on New Music Daily. "I put all my heart, all my pain, all my messages . . . into music that I believe to be so fun and energetically really pure, and I want people to dance and feel happy. You know, someone asked me the other day what my goal was with this album, and it actually sounds ridiculous when I say it out loud. But I said, 'I would like to put out music that a big chunk of the world will hear, and it will become a part of their daily lives and make them happy every single day.'"

Gaga hasn't unveiled the official album cover yet, but on April 5, she shared a series of pictures that show her serving extraterrestrial realness, captioning them, "#Chromatica ⚔️💓 2020." It's safe to say this LP is going to be out of this world.
