Laura Whitmore Recycles a Red-Hot Outfit For the "Love Island" Launch Show
Counting down the minutes until the new series of "Love Island" takes over your life? Us, too. If you can't wait to see how the first episode will pan out, host Laura Whitmore has given us a tiny glimpse into what we can expect by revealing her outfit for the launch show — and it's not what we imagined.
The 37-year-old posted a series of snaps on her Instagram showing pictures of her customising a red Joshua Kane suit that she had previously worn on the series over a year before. She captioned the post with "We've done something a bit special with an old favourite! #relove", revealing the bold red suit, complete with a cutout heart on the chest, that had been upcycled into a pair of shorts worn with the matching waistcoat.
It's very apt that Whitmore has chosen this for the first episode in light of the series's new partner. In place of fast-fashion sponsors, the series has teamed up with eBay to promote preloved fashion, with the Islanders sharing wardrobes of secondhand pieces, and we absolutely love that Whitmore has got on board, too. Fashion designer Kane even loved her new suit so much that he reposted her 2022 look on social media.
That's not all that has surprised us about episode one, either. Rather than the Islanders choosing who they want to couple up with during an awkward introduction segment as has been seen in previous years, the power has been given to us. You can vote through the "Love Island" app who you want to see initially couple up, meaning the singletons won't get to choose themselves. We're expecting fireworks already, and it's only just getting started.
