The Mandalorian's Season 2 Finale Is Bonkers — Here's Where Everyone Ends Up

After being entrusted with the care of the Child at the end of season one, Din Djarin spends the second season attempting to fulfil his promise to reunite the Child with "its own kind" — aka, the Jedi. As he follows every clue he can find to track down the elusive remaining Jedi, he winds up getting involved in the politics of the Mandalorian diaspora, discovering that the people who raised him were actually part of a splinter sect, and that one woman, Bo-Katan Kryze, is attempting to reclaim the throne of Mandalore and restore their society. He also crosses paths with Jedi Ahsoka Tano, who tells him how to reach out to other Jedi, as well as a still-alive Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, who, when Baby Yoda is kidnapped by Moff Gideon, join forces with him on a rescue mission.

Ultimately, Din Djarin and Moff Gideon have their long-awaited face-off, which ends with Din Djarin winning — and accidentally winning possession of the Darksaber that Bo-Katan needs. He's last seen bidding Grogu a tender (and helmet-less) farewell as he's whisked away to train as a Jedi under Luke Skywalker himself.

Baby Yoda goes on quite the journey this season, as he and his adopted "dad" Din Djarin go on a long quest to find the Jedi who can care for and train him. After meeting Ahsoka Tano (who reveals that his real name is Grogu after a telepathic conversation), he's taken to Tython, an ancient planet where he taps into the Force and calls out to any Jedi who can hear him. Exhausted by the effort, he's captured by Moff Gideon, who wants to take his blood and study it for its power, but Din Djarin and their friends come to his rescue.

After they're reunited, another ship appears and cuts through all the Darktroopers to get to them — Luke Skywalker, who heard Grogu's call in the Force and who, with Din Djarin's reluctant encouragement, takes Grogu with him to be properly trained.

Moff Gideon spends most of the season in hot pursuit of Baby Yoda, still trying to track him down to experiment on him, presumably in pursuit of enhancing his own power. After a few tries, he's finally successful at kidnapping Grogu and drawing his blood, but soon after, Din Djarin and the rest of their friends come after him to rescue Grogu (and, in Bo-Katan's case, to reclaim the Darksaber). When Gideon goes back on his word to let Din take Grogu and leave, he and Din fight, blade-to-blade, and Din wins, taking Gideon and the Darksaber back to Bo-Katan.

Unfortunately, as Gideon gleefully points out, the fact that Din was the one to defeat him in battle means that the Darksaber's power belongs to him, not Bo-Katan. Gideon is last seen in the custody of Din, Bo-Katan, and their crew.

The return of Boba Fett has been one of the biggest stories of season two, and he has not disappointed! He first arrives on Tython, with a revived Fennec Shand, to demand the return of his armor that Din Djarin got from Cobb Vanth. In return for the armor, he and Fennec vow to help protect Grogu, so when Din sets out to rescue Grogu from Moff Gideon, they come along on the mission.

After helping on that successful mission, they return to Tatooine and invade Jabba the Hutt's old palace, where Bib Fortuna is currently holding court in similar fashion to the previous slimy occupant. Boba and Fennec mow down the guards, free a Twi'lek slave woman who's been chained up, and then kill Bib Fortuna himself. Boba seats himself on the throne, Fennec leans up against the side . . . and cut to the title card revealing, "The Book of Boba Fett . . . Coming December 2021."

As it turns out, the one-off antagonist from last season didn't die after all, and she reveals the mechanics of her return (literally) when she arrives with Boba Fett on Tython. She tells Din Djarin that Boba saved her life, replacing her abdomen with machinery, and that she's working with him now. She and Boba join the mission to rescue Baby Yoda, and while Boba Fett flies off in his ship after the main team infiltrates Moff Gideon's ship, she stays with the team.

After the battle is done, though, she reunites with Boba Fett and helps him take over Bib Fortuna's palace (which used to belong to Jabba the Hutt, Boba's old employer), where she's last seen casually lounging, presumably thrilled at the news that she's most likely headed to the Boba Fett spinoff.

Bo-Katan, the Mandalorian leader from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars, appears in live-action in season two, first encountering Din Djarin when she and other Mandalorians rescue him and Grogu from some baddies. She's got one major goal in mind: reclaiming the Darksaber — which Moff Gideon has — and restoring Mandalore. In pursuit of that, she agrees to help Din rescue Grogu from Moff Gideon, on the condition that she be the one to take down Gideon and take his ship and saber.

Unfortunately, things go sideways, and Din is forced to fight Gideon one-on-one. Din wins and brings Gideon and the Darksaber to Bo-Katan, but Gideon reveals something Din didn't know: the Darksaber only can fulfil its real power when it's won in battle, meaning that Bo-Katan cannot wield it — it belongs to Din now.

Cara Dune spends most of her time during season two serving as Din Djarin's right-hand woman. She first rejoins his mission on Nevarro, where she, Din, and Greef Karga end up blowing up an Imperial base. After that, she's approached by New Republic officials, and she eventually accepts their offer to become a marshal. When Din returns and tells her that Grogu has been kidnapped, however, she joins his mission, first using her marshal position to pave the way for a prison break to get information, then going into battle with him and the others on Moff Gideon's ship.

She's last seen keeping a newly-captured Gideon under control, preventing him from shooting himself so that he can be taken in alive and questioned.
