Mark Ruffalo's 2020 Emmys Acceptance Speech | Video

Mark Ruffalo's Emmy Speech Is a Poignant Reminder: "Fight For Those Who Are Less Fortunate"

Mark Ruffalo just won an Emmy, and like the superhero he portrays in the Marvel universe, he made sure to use his platform for good. The Avengers star took home the award for outstanding lead actor in a limited series or movie for I Know This Much Is True on Sunday. After thanking the cast and crew of the series, Ruffalo took a moment to speak on the importance of using your privilege for good. "We have to come together with love for each other. And if you have privilege, you have to fight for those who are less fortunate and more vulnerable. We are stronger when we love each other and respect each other's diversity," he said.

Ruffalo then finished off his speech with a plea for people to get out and vote. "We have a big, important moment ahead of us," he said. "Are we going to be a country of division and hatred? A country only for certain kind of people? Or are we going to be one . . . who have the American dream and the pursuit of life, liberty, love, and happiness?" You can watch his full speech above.
