Marvel's "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" Trailer Teases a Hulked-Out Jennifer Walters

18/05/2022 - 02:35 PM

To say we're excited for Marvel's upcoming "She-Hulk" series would be an understatement. Our expectations for the MCU's take on Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk are pretty high, thanks to the precedent set by "WandaVision," [1] "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," [2] and "Loki" [3] — especially since Tatiana Maslany has been cast as the titular lawyer turned superhero.

After much anticipation, we finally have a closer look at the new Disney+ series, officially titled "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law." The streamer released its first trailer on May 17, and the clip teases Maslany's Jennifer Walters as a lawyer who just wants a regular "anonymous" life. But instead, she inherits her infamous cousin Bruce Banner's Hulk powers and becomes her town's newest superhero.

Created by Jessica Gao, "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" recalls She-Hulk's origin story and how she adjusts to her powers. After Jameela Jamil's role was previously reported by Variety [4] in June 2021, the actor announced her casting news with a video of her fight training via Twitter [5]. The new series is expected to arrive this summer, so ahead, check out all the show's details — including the set release date, plot details, cast, and trailer.

She-Hulk Release Date

With fellow Marvel Disney+ shows Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel set to premiere in late 2021, it's likely that She-Hulk [7] will premiere in 2022.

She-Hulk Plot

The series centres on Jennifer Walters [8], a lawyer and cousin of the original Hulk, Bruce Banner. After receiving a blood transfusion from Bruce, Jennifer realises she's been imbued with his Hulk powers. Unlike her cousin, Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality and intelligence when she hulks out. With Tim Roth returning as Hulk's archenemy Abomination and Jameela Jamil reportedly taking on the role of She-Hulk's nemesis Titania, it seems that She-Hulk will delve deeper into the overarching Hulk mythology. Marvel head Kevin Feige confirmed that the show would be a half-hour legal comedy [9], which is something the MCU has never done before so think less Daredevil and more Franklin & Bash.

She-Hulk Cast

With each new casting announcement [10], we can't help but get excited to see She-Hulk in action. Tatiana Maslany will take on the role of the titular hero. Surprisingly, She-Hulk is bringing back Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/Abomination [11], officially tying the MCU to 2008's The Incredible Hulk. Joining Maslany and Roth are Mark Ruffalo [12] as Bruce Banner/Hulk, Jameela Jamil as Titania, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Amelia [13], and Ginger Gonzaga as Jennifer's best friend [14].
