The Summer I Turned Pretty Cast Is Just What We Had in Mind For the Jenny Han Book

If you've been patiently waiting for something new to watch since To All the Boys: Always and Forever [1], we have a new show for you. Based on the novel of the same name by Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty follows teenager Belly as she deals with love and loss over the course of a magical summer. Han, who also wrote the pilot, will serve as a coshowrunner [2] alongside Gabrielle Stanton. Joining the cast as Belly's older brother Steven is Manifest's Sean Kaufman. We already know how the three-book series ends, but we can't wait to see where the Amazon Prime Video show takes Belly's story. You can check out the rest of the cast ahead.

Minnie Mills as Shayla

One of Belly's fellow debutantes, Shayla is a confident and cool city girl. Although she hasn't had any major roles outside of The Summer I Turned Pretty, Mills trained at both [3] GoodCapp Arts and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Gavin Casalegno as Jeremiah "Jere" Fisher

After years of watching her pine after his older brother Conrad, Jeremiah gets tired of pushing his feelings for Belly away. Popular and outspoken, he's not afraid to speak his mind. Casalegno got his start with films like 2014's Noah and was most recently on Walker as Trevor Strand.

Lola Tung as Isabel "Belly" Conklin

Initially awkward around boys, things start to change for Belly the summer she turns 16. Independent, witty, and fun, she suddenly finds herself at the centre of a love triangle she never could've expected. You've likely not seen Tung before, as The Summer I Turned Pretty will be her first major role.

Jackie Chung as Laurel Conklin

Belly and Steven's divorced mother, Laurel just wants best for her children. She's also extremely close with her best friend, Susannah, who she feels is more like a sister. Chung has had several guest roles on shows like Station 19, Grey's Anatomy [4], and Deadbeat.

Christopher Briney as Conrad Fisher

The eldest son of Adam and Susannah Fisher, Conrad is Belly's childhood crush. Known to push others aside, he's secretly in love with Belly, which becomes a point of contention with his brother, Jeremiah. A graduate of Pace University [5], Briney primarily worked in theatre prior to The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Rachel Blanchard as Susannah "Beck" Fisher

Laurel's best friend and the mother of Conrad and Jeremiah, Susannah is the rock of her family. Warm-hearted, she helps the two families get together each summer. Blanchard is best known for her roles as Cher on Clueless, Nancy on Peep Show, and Emma on You Me Her.

David Iacono as Cam

Despite her feelings for Conrad, Cam is Belly's first boyfriend. A cute local boy with a skater vibe, Belly falls for his sweet personality. Outside of his starring role as Bo Orlov on Grand Army, Iacono also had roles on The Flight Attendant, Blue Bloods, and The Good Doctor.

Tom Everett Scott as Adam Fisher

A competitive workaholic, Adam is Susannah's charismatic husband that needs everything to be his way. Scott's most notable roles include Guy Patterson in That Thing You Do!, Andy McDermott in An American Werewolf, and as Mr. Down on 13 Reasons Why [6].

Summer Madison as Nicole

Nicole has her eyes on the cutest boys in town, but will it be a problem for Belly's love life? If you loved Teenage Bounty Hunters, you might recognise Madison, who played Denise on the show.

Alfredo Narciso as Cleveland

Cleveland, a commercially successful novelist from New York, crosses paths with the rest of the group while spending his summer working on a new novel. No stranger to television, Narciso has had roles on Law & Order, Ugly Betty, Third Watch, Person of Interest, Blue Bloods, and All My Children.

Rain Spencer as Taylor Jewel

Although they're polar opposites, Taylor is Belly's childhood best friend. A queen bee and sometimes mean girl, Taylor is fiercely loyal to those she loves. Spencer appeared on 2017's The Superman as Young Gril/Young Girl. [7]
