Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman did not mince their words during their opening monologue at the Film Independent Spirit Awards [1] on Sunday night when it came to the ongoing Russian invasion [2]. The married couple opened the 37th annual Spirit Awards by sending their "best wishes" to Ukraine before telling Vladimir Putin to "f*ck off" and sticking their middle fingers to the camera.
"I think we speak for everyone here when we say that we are hoping for a quick, peaceful resolution," Mullally said. "Specifically, f*ck off and go home, Putin!" Offerman added, "We hope Putin f*cks off and goes home, and to that end, let's all join together with a Spirit Awards salute to Putin."
Mullally concluded, "Great organisations are raising money [for Ukrainian refugees]. Please give what you can to give to the victims of this senseless act of aggression." Watch Mullally and Offerman's opening monologue above.
