To be fair, not all movies are produced with the hope of becoming cinematic masterpieces. Some movies just want to provide a few laughs and scares rather than draw accolades, and that's totally fine. However, some films are just incontestable stinkers, and no amount of A-listers in the cast can save them. Is anyone surprised that Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star wasn't nominated for an Oscar? No. But are we still surprised that Christina Ricci agreed to be in that movie? We sure are. Here are just 22 films that have earned a zero percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, because bad movies happen and, sometimes, bad reviews are necessary.

1. Mac and Me (1988)

Looking for a bad E.T. the Extraterrestrial knockoff? Then Mac and Me is for you. If not, then you'll probably agree with the critic who called this one, "a mercenary display of product placement and a bad advertisement for filmmaking." We're just grateful this one never got a sequel.

2. Problem Child (1990)

Despite starring the late, great John Ritter, this slapstick comedy about a kid who looks like an angel and acts like a terror has way more problems than laughs. It got panned by critics, and yet this one still went on to make two sequels that no one asked for: Problem Child 2 and Problem Child 3: Junior in Love.

3. Look Who's Talking Now! (1993)

John Travolta and Kirstie Alley reunited for this final instalment in the Look Who's Talking trilogy where — instead of talking babies — we were given talking dogs voiced by Diane Keaton and Danny DeVito. Spoiler alert: They didn't have anything worth saying.

4. Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever (2002)

You'd think an action flick about two former government agents going head-to-head in a battle for a deadly weapon would be pretty compelling (especially when those agents are played by Lucy Liu and Antonio Banderas), but unfortunately, this one ended up looking more like a "video-game promo" than an original, nuanced movie.

5. Derailed (2002)

Jean-Claude Van Damme may have major star power, but this pulpy straight-to-video action flick about a special government agent, the biological weapons he must protect, and the terrorist group that tries to steal them is just too implausible to be enjoyed.

6. Pinocchio (2002)

No one asked for this Pinocchio live-action remake, and fans were left haunted by this hammy version of the classic children's tale, which critics deemed far more creepy than charming.

7. Killing Me Softly (2003)

Though this Heather Graham-led erotic thriller about an impulsive wedding and a regretful woman had a lot of potential, the banal dialogue and cheesy twist at the end made this one "a hilariously bad movie that has to be seen to be believed."

8. Constellation (2005)

You wouldn't think a cast that includes Billy Dee Williams, Gabrielle Union, Hill Harper, and Zoe Saldana could ever fail us, but this movie about an estranged family brought together by a death felt more like a made-for-TV soap opera than an A-list drama.

9. One Missed Call (2008)

This remake of the Japanese original, which revolves around a foreboding phone call, didn't just miss the mark — it left critics rolling their eyes rather than cowering in fear.

10. Homecoming (2009)

Fans of The O.C. may have been thrilled to see the return of Mischa Barton, but this not-so-scary horror about an ex-girlfriend who just can't let go made fans wish they had stayed home rather than seeing this one in theatres.

11. The Nutcracker in 3D (2010)

As much as we love Elle Fanning and Nathan Lane, this remake of the classic Christmas fairytale was weirdly dark, unfortunately dreary, and — as one critique said — the "cinematic equivalent of a lump of coal in a Christmas stocking."

12. Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star (2011)

Starring the bizarre trio of Nick Swardson, Christina Ricci, and Don Johnson, this movie about a grocery bagger with dreams of becoming an adult film star seems more like a "series of vague ideas for skits that nobody fleshed out" than a winning comedy.

13. Dark Tide (2012)

If you were wondering what a sexy Jaws starring Halle Berry would look like, don't get your hopes up, because the result is this one-dimensional flop that critics thought stunk worse than low tide.

14. A Thousand Words (2012)

Eddie Murphy has provided plenty of hilarity over the years, but this formulaic comedy about a fast-talking agent forced to reduce his daily word count definitely didn't leave audiences in stitches (even with the addition of Kerry Washington, Allison Janey, and Ruby Dee).

15. The Ridiculous 6 (2015)

What do Adam Sandler, Terry Crews, Jorge Garcia, Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, and Luke Wilson have in common? They all share the same fictitious father, and they all agreed to make this ridiculously problematic film.

16. Cabin Fever (2016)

This needless horror remake about a group of hot friends, a secluded cabin, and a flesh-eating virus didn't add anything new to the original, except for more impressively grotesque makeup effects.

17. The Disappointments Room (2016)

From the director of Eagle Eye and Disturbia, Kate Beckinsale stars in this psychological thriller as a woman looking to give her family a fresh start, but ultimately, the familiar haunted-house trope made this one a big disappointment.

18. Max Steel (2016)

This action-figure-coming-to-life flick wanted to be the next Transformers, but not even Maria Bello and Andy Garcia could save this one from its "lack of imagination, humourlessness, and corpse-like pacing."

19. Precious Cargo (2016)

This straight-to-video thriller stars Bruce Willis, Claire Forlani, and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as thieves in a murderous showdown, and though it could have been fun, the lack of thrills and reliance on skimpy outfits makes this one a snoozer of a heist film.

20. Dark Crimes (2016)

We were all rooting for you, Jim Carrey, and while he gives a darkly awesome performance in this drama, he couldn't save this misguided murder mystery from being a crime against cinema.

Though John Travolta makes a valiant attempt to play infamous crime boss John Gotti, this biopic proved to be too ambitious and incoherent to win any praise.

22. London Fields (2018)

We know what you're thinking: How could a film that includes Amber Heard, Theo James, Jim Sturgess, Billy Bob Thornton, and Cara Delevingne be bad? Despite the A-list cast, this adaptation of the beloved novel was deemed boring, bewildering, and "proof that not every successful novel should become a movie."
