Netflix Has 7 New Horror and Thriller TV and Movies Coming Out This May

Summer can be spooky season too, or at least it can at Netflix! This May, the streaming platform is releasing several of its most anticipated new thriller and horror movies [1] and TV shows. There's long-awaited psychological thrillers [2], full-on horror flicks [3], and a couple of documentaries you definitely shouldn't watch before sleeping!

Netflix's library of originals will add a total of seven new horror and thriller titles [4] throughout the month of May, and we're already on the edge of our seats! The Sons of Sam: A Descent Into Darkness

The documentary follows journalist Maury Terry [5], who became obsessed with the infamous "Son of Sam" case. In the 1970s, serial killer David Berkowitz used the moniker "Son of Sam" during his killing spree, claiming to have been obeying the orders of a demon. As Terry investigated, he suggested that the case actually was tied to a satanic cult, and the documentary attempts to explore those claims.

Oxygen

This eerie French sci-fi film is a terrifying futuristic thrill ride. When Liz wakes up in a cryogenic unit, she has to remember who she is and what comes next before her oxygen runs out.

Haunted Season 3

Netflix's creepiest docuseries is back, with a third series full of true stories of hauntings and other creepy, paranormal encounters. Eerie reenactments are narrated by the very people who experienced them, and this season will include stories of a demonic pet, a ghostly tune, and even a literal haunted mansion.

The Strange House

This horror movie starts out the way so many do: with a city family moving to a strange small town. Two brothers and their new friends set out to solve a haunting mystery in their new home, but they end up getting much more than they bargained for.

The Woman in the Window

The long-awaited adaptation of A.J. Finn's novel is finally here. Amy Adams [10] stars as an agoraphobic psychologist who becomes obsessed with watching her neighbours. When she believes she witnesses a brutal crime, she becomes equally obsessed with solving it, despite all the twists and turns that get in her way.

Who Killed Sara? Season 2

Netflix's latest buzzy hit is already offering up some answers (and more questions) with season two of the bingeworthy Mexican drama. Following the revelations at the end of season one, Alex is still out to get revenge for his sister Sara's death, but as he investigates further, he has to come to terms with the fact that he never really knew her as well as he thought.

Army of the Dead

Zombie flick meets heist movie in this unusual horror/action movie. After a zombie apocalypse in Las Vegas, a team of mercenaries decide to take advantage of the chaos to pull off a massive heist. The only problem? Their target is right in the middle of the zombie quarantine zone.
