Never Have I Ever Season 4: Release Date, Cast, Photos

"Never Have I Ever" Sets a Premiere Date For Its Final Season — See the First Look

Devi and the gang are ready to conquer their senior year of high school in "Never Have I Ever"'s fourth season. It's a bittersweet occasion as the upcoming installment marks the end of an era for the Maitreyi Ramakrishnan-led teen dramedy. Netflix confirmed in March 2022 that it'll end with season four. "We can't wait to reveal all the steamy romance and hilarious adventures we have in store for you," creator Mindy Kaling and showrunner Lang Fisher shared in a statement at the time. "Thanks to all our fans for your support — especially you #Bevi and #Daxton stans. We love you!"

Don't worry, "Never Have I Ever" fans: the show plans to send viewers off with a grand farewell before Devi and her friends graduate — and we have a first look at what to expect. On 13 April, 2023, Netflix unveiled first-look photos from season four as well as a video date announcement confirming when the show will return to our TV screens.

Season four will likely pick up on that shocking cliffhanger between Devi and Ben (Jaren Lewison) from season three's finale, which dropped on 12 Aug., 2022. And it'll surely include all sorts of other crazy adventures as our favourite nerd finishes out her last year before heading off to her Ivy League college.

In a previous interview with POPSUGAR, Kaling touched on why she's ending her beloved TV creation after four seasons. "In the beginning, I thought, 'Oh, I could do this show forever and ever,' but then you see these kids and it's scary how old they look by the end of the season," she said. "Then you wait a year to shoot again, and you're like, 'Oh, this is why high school shows wrap it up in four seasons.' When [showrunner Lang Fisher] suggested, 'What if we try to do all of their storylines in four years?' it really did end up making sense."

On 13 April, Netflix announced that season four will premiere on 8 June. It'll include 10 30-minute episodes.

All of our main favourites from the "Never Have I Ever" cast are returning for the final season — including Ramakrishnan, Lewison, Poorna Jagannathan, Richa Moorjani, Darren Barnet, Lee Rodriguez, and Ramona Young. Per first-look photos from season four and the official date announcement video, a new face is also joining the cast: Michael Cimino, who plays Devi's new love interest, Ethan.

While speaking with Entertainment Tonight in April 2022, Kaling opened up about why she feels season four is the time to end the show. "Four seasons for a high school show felt like it made sense," she explained. "They can't be in high school forever. We've seen those shows. Like, you've been in high school for 12 years. What is going on here? Also, the actors get older and it starts looking insane that a 34-year-old is playing a 15-year-old."

She continued, "The great thing about doing it on Netflix is that we got to tell stories that you wouldn't necessarily be able to tell in traditional network shows, and so we feel good. We really told the story of this 15-year-old girl, and that felt like the perfect amount of time."
