Blumhouse Has 4 New Horror Movies Hitting Amazon Prime Video in October

21/09/2020 - 07:10 PM

This year, you won't have to leave your house to see new horror movies [1] starring Joey King [2], Sydney Sweeney, and Sunita Mani. Blumhouse, the studio behind Get Out, Split, and the Paranormal Activity movies, is debuting four original features on Amazon Prime Video. In fact, there are plans for eight films, but the first crop is hitting the streaming service throughout October. (Stay turned for more movies in 2021!) Black Box, The Lie, Nocturne, and Evil Eye all have vastly different premises, but each trailer will leave you with chills. While we stockpile candy corn and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in preparation for some double-features, check out the trailers.

Black Box

Mamoudou Athie (The Get Down) stars as recently widowed father who agrees to an experimental treatment with unsettling results in Black Box [4].

Release date: Oct. 6

The Lie

Joey King [5] is about to show some series range as a girl who (maybe not accidentally) kills her best friend in The Lie [6]. Peter Sarsgaard and Mireille Enos star as her parents, who are tasked with covering up the crime.

Release date: Oct. 6

Nocturne

Weird sh*t is afoot in Nocturne [7], which features Sydney Sweeney as the sister of a musical prodigy (Madison Iseman). Jealousy overcomes her, and when she comes to possess the notebook of a dead classmate, she can suddenly play better than her sister — but how?

Release date: Oct. 13

Evil Eye

Pallavi (GLOW's Sunita Mani) is convinced she's found the man of her dreams . . . until her mother (Sarita Choudhury) decides he's actually the reincarnation of a man who tried to murder her decades ago.

Release date: Oct. 13
