18 New and Returning TV Shows Coming to Netflix Throughout December

You likely won't be seeing any presents under the tree until the end of the month, but thanks to Netflix, you can still expect to receive gifts all month long. This December, you can look forward to season four of Big Mouth, the fourth (and final) season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and a second season of Song Exploder, among other returning series. There are also several brand-new shows coming our way, including Shonda Rhimes's first original series for Netflix, a biographical series based on the life of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, and a YA ballet drama perfect for fans of Pretty Little Liars. 1. Bhaag Beanie Bhaag, Season 1

In this Hindi-language comedy from India, an aspiring comic named Beanie creates tension in her family and her relationship when she decides to take a chance and pursue a career in stand-up.

2. Big Mouth, Season 4

Voiced by an all-star cast of comedians that includes Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph, and Jordan Peele, among others, this raunchy animated series returns for a four season to follow the crew to summer camp following the end of seventh grade.

3. The Great British Baking Show: Holidays, Season 3

In the third holiday special of this adorable and exceptionally polite baking competition series, former contestants (as well as the cast of Derry Girls) face off and make some festive treats.

4. Selena: The Series, Season 1

The Walking Dead's Christian Serratos stars in this biographical drama as the titular Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, a talented young Tejano performer, and her epic rise to fame in the '80s and early '90s.

5. Detention, Season 1

Based on the popular video game of same name, this Taiwanese supernatural horror series is set in 1962 during Taiwan's White Terror period, following two teens who find themselves trapped in their school while attempting to find their radical teacher, who mysteriously went missing.

7. Mr. Iglesias, Season 3

Stand-up comedian Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias returns for a third instalment of this comedy series, where he plays a well-meaning public high school teacher who, after taking a teaching job at his old school, attempts to help a group of gifted misfits unlock their full potential as students.

8. Alice in Borderland, Season 1

Based on the manga series of the same name by Haro Aso, this Japanese sci-fi show revolves around a trio of delinquent gamers who find themselves in a parallel version of Tokyo called Borderland, where they must play games for their lives rather than for fun.

9. The Mess You Leave Behind, Season 1

Created and based on the novel of the same name by Carlos Montero (who serves as a writer for Elite), this Spanish drama series follows a substitute high school lit teacher who is told that her predecessor committed suicide, though she soon discovers that the truth is more complicated.

10. Tiny Pretty Things, Season 1

Based on the YA book series of the same name by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton, this drama is set in the world of Chicago's only elite ballet academy, The Archer School, and the new girl who steps in after The Archer School's star student is put out of commission.

Hosted by Hrishikesh Hirway and Morgan Neville and based on the podcast of the same name, Song Exploder features some of the world's best musicians as they reveal the stories behind their most popular hits.
