Fall Looks Promising Thanks to These New and Returning Netflix Series Coming in September

The weather is growing colder and the days are getting shorter, so it will soon be time to kiss summer goodbye. But we do have some good news: Netflix has tons of new and returning series coming our way in September, so spending more time inside is nothing to pout about. This month, you can look forward to a third instalment of The Circle, the long-awaited fourth season of Dear White People, the sixth and final season of Lucifer, a third season of Sex Education, the fifth season of Money Heist, a second season of Blood & Water, and so much more. With exciting series from countries around the world — including Thailand, India, and Korea, just to name a few — and a collection of shows from here in the US, here's what you need to check out in September.

1. How to Be a Cowboy, Season 1

Ever wondered what life as a rancher is like? Dale Brisby is here to show you the ropes in his reality series, which reveals the ins and outs of life as a modern-day cowboy.

2. Q-Force, Season 1

Voiced by an all-star cast of voice actors — including Sean Hayes, Wanda Sykes, Laurie Metcalf, and David Harbour, among others — this adult animated comedy revolves around a secret agent and his team of LGBTQ+ spies as they take down bad guys (and fight for a little recognition).

3. Money Heist, Season 5, Part 1

Though this Spanish heist show originally debuted as a limited series, it's now coming back for a fifth season, continuing the story of eight thieves who have locked themselves in the Royal Mint of Spain — along with a group of hostages — as a criminal mastermind attempts to get the police to cooperate with his master plan.

4. On the Verge, Season 1

5. The Circle, Season 3

This reality competition series is returning for a third season, following a group of strangers living in the same building (but different apartments) who — communicating solely through social media — must decide who has cultivated the best online persona.

6. Into the Night, Season 2

What happens when passengers and crew members on an overnight flight out of Brussels find themselves facing the threat of a deadly cosmic disaster? That's the premise of Belgium's first original show for Netflix, and it's back for a second season.

7. Lucifer, Season 6

Though it was originally cancelled after its third season, this Fox comedy series thankfully moved to Netflix for more wicked fun. The sixth and final season concludes the story of the infamous fallen angel and his will-they-or-won't-they relationship with Detective Chloe Decker.

8. Metal Shop Masters, Season 1

Sparks fly on this new Netflix show where several of the country's top welding experts go head-to-head for the title of Metal Shop Master in this intense reality competition series.

9. Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, Season 5

In its fifth season, comic Jack Whitehall (who's originally from the UK and now lives in LA) goes on more adventures with his stuffy, former show-business agent father. This time, Jack brings his dad to Scotland, Wales, and England.

This reality series is back for a second instalment, following three budget travellers as they visit holiday rentals around the world and share their expert tips and tricks for vacationing on a budget.

11. Nailed It!, Season 6

Get your ovens preheated, because Nailed It! is back for a sixth instalment. Watch amateur bakers attempt to re-create elaborate cakes for cash prizes and often find themselves subject to hilarious baking fails.
