Netflix Is Doing Us All a Solid by Releasing 24 New and Returning Original Shows in August

Getting fresh air is nice and all, but spending a summer day indoors to binge-watch Netflix shows is sometimes even better. As always, there are a ton of new and returning series dropping this month, including the second season of Trinkets, the third season of Selling Sunset, and the fifth season of Lucifer (which, apparently, is not the final season). You can also expect to see the debut of a series that looks like the new Money Heist, a Karate Kid sequel series, and so much more. With shows from Brazil, Denmark, Spain, Mexico, Germany, Colombia, South Korea, and here in the US, check out the gallery for everything you need to binge this August.

1. Mystery Lab, Season 1

Hosted by popular YouTuber Felipe Castanhari, this Brazilian series takes a deep dive into everything from modern marvels to ancient mysteries, touching upon subjects like the Bermuda Triangle, the Great Plague, and artificial intelligence.

2. The Rain, Season 3

In this Danish post-apocalyptic series, two siblings, Simone and Rasmus, navigate the world together five years after a virus spread by rainfall wipes out almost all of Scandinavia. The third season picks up right where season two left off, following Simone and Rasmus as they argue how to best save humanity in their new post-apocalyptic world.

3. High Seas, Season 3

Netflix's fourth Spanish original series takes place in the late 1940s, telling the story of a luxury transatlantic liner and the mysterious crimes committed onboard. In season three, the ship travels from Argentina to Mexico while Eva attempts to hunt down a fellow passenger who's harboring a deadly virus.

4. Nailed It! Mexico, Season 2

The Netflix cooking competition ¡Nailed It! — where amateur bakers attempt to re-create elaborate cakes for cash prizes and often find themselves subject to hilarious baking fails — is heading back to Mexico for a second season.

5. Selling Sunset, Season 3

If you love luxurious real estate, then you'll love this reality series, which follows elite real estate brokers at The Oppenheim Group who cater to affluent buyers in LA. The third season revolves around Chrishell's very public breakup and Christine's very extravagant wedding, with a few sales closing along the way.

6. Sing On! Germany, Season 1

Hosted by Palina Rojinski, this singing competition from Germany challenges participants to take on some of music's biggest hits in the hopes of winning the (potentially) 30,000 euro jackpot.

7. Tiny Creatures, Season 1

Narrated by Mike Colter (whom you might know better as Marvel's Luke Cage), this wild nature series follows little critters as they set off on epic journeys across the US.

8. 3%, Season 4

Set in the distant future, this Brazilian dystopian series revolves around two communities: the impoverished Inland, and the three percent of the population who are lucky enough to live in a virtual paradise known as the Offshore. Little info has been revealed about the fourth and final season, but it's sure to be epic.

9. The Great Heist, Season 1

Fans of Money Heist won't want to miss this thrilling series, which is based on the real-life 1994 robbery of $33 million from the Bank of Republic in Colombia, otherwise known as the Robbery of the Century.

10. Glow Up, Season 2

Hosted by UK TV personality Stacey Dooley, this reality competition series follows 10 aspiring makeup professionals as they face off for the chance to become Britain's next makeup star, and it's back for a second instalment.

11. Teenage Bounty Hunters, Season 1

A Different World's Kadeem Hardison stars in this raunchy comedy as a veteran bounty hunter who joins forces with 16-year-old fraternal twin sisters Sterling and Blair after they decide they want to be a part of his high-stakes world.

12. Rita, Season 5

Nearly three years after Rita's fourth season dropped on Netflix, the Danish dramedy is back for a fifth season, following the titular Rita as she comes into contact with an old flame and welcomes her youngest son home.

13. Stranger, Season 2

It's been three years since Stranger's first season debuted, but South Korean crime thriller is finally coming back for a second instalment, continuing the story of Prosecutor Hwang Si Mok and Detective Han Yeo Jin as they attempt to make sense of several intertwined cases.

14. DeMarcus Family Rules, Season 1

This reality series revolves around Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus and his beauty queen wife of 16 years, Allison Alderson, following the ups and downs of their marriage as they juggle their kids and careers.

17. Lucifer, Season 5

Though it was originally cancelled after its third season, this Fox comedy series thankfully moved to Netflix for more wicked fun. The fifth season continues the story of the infamous fallen angel and his will-they-or-won't-they relationship with Detective Chloe Decker.

18. Rust Valley Restorers, Season 3

Based in an area at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains known as Rust Valley, this series follows a crew of car enthusiasts at a Rust Valley garage who work together to transform hunks of junk into collectible (and hopefully profitable) classics, and it's back for a third season.

19. Trinkets, Season 2

Based on novel of the same name by Kirsten Smith, the second season of Trinkets continues the story of Elodie, Moe, and Tabitha, three sticky-fingered teens who formed an unexpected bond after meeting at Shoplifters Anonymous.

23. Cobra Kai, Seasons 1 & 2

This sequel series to The Karate Kid picks up 34 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, following Johnny Lawrence (who's still played by William Zabka) as he reignites his old rivalry with Daniel LaRusso (who's still played by Ralph Macchio) by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo.

24. I AM A KILLER: Released, Season 1

This three-part spinoff series to I AM A KILLER revolves around Dale Wayne Sigler, a convict who was paroled 30 years after being sentenced to death for murder. The series follows Sigler as he adjusts to life on the outside and finally reveals the true motive behind his crime.
