Wedding bells are ringing again for Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra [1] because they've just signed on to executive produce their own wedding-inspired TV show on Amazon [2] — so please consider my schedule completely booked from here on out. The unscripted series, which is currently casting, will focus on the Sangeet, a traditional Indian ceremony that takes place the night before a wedding. The ceremony involves friends and family of the bride and groom participating in a night of song and dance in celebration of the couple.

"The Sangeet is a centuries-old Indian wedding tradition."

"We re-watched the video of our Sangeet last week on our first anniversary, and the togetherness of our family and friends during this event still sparks the same warmth and excitement that it did just over a year ago at our wedding," Chopra said in a statement to Variety. "The Sangeet is a centuries-old Indian wedding tradition, that not only celebrates the union of two people, but also signifies the introduction and bonding of two families coming together in a marriage."

The upcoming series will follow couples and their wedding parties as they prepare for the Sangeet ceremony, which includes rehearsing dance performances with help from a team of celebrity choreographers, stylists, and creative directors.

Chopra and Jonas got married in December 2018 at the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in India, where they were wed in a series of ceremonies [4]. "The days leading up to our Sangeet were some of the most special, memorable moments of the weekend," Jonas said. "Bringing the concept of this musical celebration to the mainstream in a new way, through couples setting out on one of the most exciting journeys of their life, is an idea that we are proud to bring to life with Amazon."

The couple will executive produce the show alongside Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, and Dan Volpe of Alfred Street Industries, Anjula Acharia, Phil McIntyre, and Nina Anand Aujla. Jonas will executive produce under Image 32, while Chopra will executive produce through Purple Pebble Productions. While the show remains untitled, it is scheduled to begin filming in 2020, and you can bet we're going to devour every episode.
