Patrick Dempsey [2] is still offering wise wellness advice even five years after playing a doctor on screen. The actor, who famously portrayed Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd for 11 seasons of Grey's Anatomy [3], recently shared a post encourageing his followers to wear face masks [4] to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In a smooth move, Dempsey's caption was the phrase his character frequently repeated throughout the series: "It's a Beautiful Day to Save Lives." Dempsey also added the hashtags #WearAMask and #YourActionsSaveLives.

Dempsey's recommendation is in line with the Centres For Disease Control and Prevention's guidelines, which were updated in early June to encourage the continued use of masks [5] or other face coverings for all Americans in social gatherings or public settings.
