After Amélie, Soo returned to Broadway in the same year with the role of Rebecca in The Parisian Woman. The show revolves around main character Chloe, played by Uma Thurman during Soo's run, who is a witty and entertaining socialite as she details her past, her marriage, politics, and the uncertain future that lies ahead. This show is not a musical, but maybe that's even better because it lets audiences admire Soo's Juilliard acting chops.

In 2019, Soo had a main role in the military drama The Code, which aired on CBS. While the show only lasted for one season, Soo brought her all to the role of Lieutenant Harper Li. In the children's movie The One and Only Ivan, also featured on Disney+, Soo will be voicing a parrot named Thelma. The story is set in 1973 around the main character, Ivan, who is a gorilla living in a mall. He and his band of other animal captives spend the movie trying to improve the mall and their lives as a result. You'll see Bryan Cranston acting, but you'll hear Angelina Jolie, Sam Rockwell, Helen Mirren, and Danny DeVito as animals.

Set to be released on Netflix sometime in 2020, Over the Moon is an animated film about a young Chinese girl who designs a rocket to get her into space where she believes she will find the goddess of the moon, Chang'e. The movie is a musical, so we can expect a new Soo song as a result since she plays Chang'e herself. With a cute bunny sidekick and plenty of celestial imagery, this movie is sure to sparkle, and hopefully Soo will with it.
