Blake Lively Seeks Violent Closure in Action-Packed Trailer For The Rhythm Section

It's safe to say that The Rhythm Section is showing us a side of Blake Lively that we've never seen before. The 32-year-old actress stars in the action-packed thriller as Stephanie Patrick, a woman bent on vengeance after learning that the plane crash that killed her entire family wasn't an accident. Previously living an aimless life on a path of self-destruction, the revelation spurs Stephanie to adopt a new life as an assassin — with some killer disguises — as she seeks revenge against everyone responsible and finds her own brand of redemption. You may recall, we got a glimpse of Stephanie's drug-addled look before, thanks to some snarky commentary from Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds.

The Rhythm Section is a modern adaptation of the novel of the same name by Mark Burnell and is directed by Reed Morano, who also worked on The Handmaid's Tale. The film also stars Jude Law as a mentor-esque figure for Lively's Stephanie and Sterling K. Brown as a mysterious figure who ends up getting close to the former addict.
