They are rumoured to have got married this summer, and now Rita Ora and Taika Waititi are taking their relationship to a new stage (literally) as the happy couple have been announced as the hosts of the 2022 MTV EMAs. The music awards show is due to take place in Düsseldorf, Germany on 13 Nov., with Harry Styles leading the nominations, and viewers tuning in will get to see Ora and Waititi's chemistry firsthand.

Ahead of the awards bash, MTV released a teaser video which shows just a hint of what we can expect, and if it's anything to go by, we're in for a hilarious ride. Ora, who wears a lime dress with leather opera gloves, announces she will be presenting the music show and will be joined by another host. She jokes she is sworn to secrecy and her "lips are sealed". Waititi then walks behind her, nonchalantly eating a sandwich, and looking sheepish that he's blown the surprise.

This isn't the first time the "Hot Right Now" singer has hosted the show, having previously taken the reins at the MTV EMAs 2017 where she also won the Power of Music award as part of the Artists for Grenfell initiative. "I'm thrilled to be back hosting, and sharing the stage with Taika makes it all the more special," Ora said of the announcement. "We've got it all at this year's EMAs, fun surprises, fantastic fashion, comedy, and above all amazing music! We can't wait for audiences to share these moments with us."

Rumours that Ora was dating Waititi, an Academy Award-winning writer, director, and actor, began in April 2021, but they made things official in July 2021 with their first public appearance as a couple at Próspero Tequila's Fourth of July rooftop party in Los Angeles.

Since then, the couple have been spotted together on a number of occasions, most recently at the "Thor: Love and Thunder" which New Zealander Waititi directed. Ora has not been shy at talking openly about her romance, speaking on her friend Jaime Winstone's podcast "Greatest Night Ever" about her relationship. "I'm in love. I'm very much in love. I'm in love, I'm in love, amen! But I love love as well. I've always been such a believer in it, and I've always felt like I always wanted the fairy tale, and that's what I grew up loving," Ora said.

News of their hosting gig cements their position as a certified showbiz couple. We'll be watching to see if they spill any details of their rumoured wedding, as well as to see Ora's array of outfits as she's been showing a penchant for cutout looks of late. We can't wait to see what the couple have in store.

Watch the MTV EMAs 2022 on MTV on 13 Nov. and on Paramount+ on 14 Nov.
