Sam Smith [1] has announced the wait for their third studio album To Die For is almost over. In a Twitter post on Thursday [2], Smith announced the album is dropping on May 1, and we are already counting down the days until we have their fresh soulful bops in our ears.

"I'm more proud of this album than anything I've ever done," Smith wrote on Twitter. "I've really set myself free the last two years whilst writing this & I hope you can dance and relate to these stories. It's all for you, always xx." The news comes just one day after Smith opened a wig store in London's Soho, which is also named after the album. They have also released the first single from the record today (also named "To Die For"), which you can listen to in full, ahead. If this song is anything to go by, Smith's album will be just as emotional as their previous albums, with the lyrics "I just want somebody to die for / (Does that scare you?) / (I don't wanna be alone)" hitting us especially hard in the feels.
