Is David Arquette in Scream 5?

Arquette is the only official member of the cast [5] so far, with news of his return breaking on May 18. "I am thrilled to be playing Dewey again and to reunite with my Scream family, old and new," he said in a statement. "Scream has been such a big part of my life, and for both the fans and myself, I look forward to honouring Wes Craven's legacy."

Is Neve Campbell in Scream 5?

In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Campbell revealed that she's currently in negotiations to return as the slasher queen [6] herself, Sidney Prescott. "We're having conversations – I have been approached about it," she said, explaining that the world's standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic made timing difficult. But she's hopeful about reaching a deal, adding that "The two directors wrote me a very touching letter about Wes Craven and how he was such an inspiration to them and how they really want to honour him, and that meant a great, great deal to me. So we'll see. Hopefully we can all see eye to eye on the project and find a way to make it."

Is Matthew Lillard in Scream 5?

Lillard is known for portraying Stu Macher in the first film, where his character was famously killed by Sidney Prescott. But in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Good Girls actor revealed the small tidbit that would allow him to (happily) reprise the role [7].

"It was originally conceived that Stu was running a collection of kids in high school that did horrible things," Lillard said, explaining how the original shooting script for Scream 3 revealed that Stu had survived and had been living in secret. But when the Columbine High School shooting occurred right before the film went into production, the plans were scrapped when. But Lillard is still down for a comeback!

"I would love to come back," he said. "Actors, for the most part, most of us are out here tap dancing as fast as we can to feed our families and get jobs. So if there was a chance to come back, that made sense, yes."
