Think allll the way back to January of this year, when Sex Education [1] premiered its first season (yes, the Netflix comedy came out in 2019, if you can believe it). Otis had finally, um, figured out how to do his business! Eric stood up for himself and mended things with his dad! Maeve realised her true romantic feelings [2]! In short: season one was f*cking great. So, prepare yourselves, because now we have our first look at season two [3].
In the photos shared by Netflix on Nov. 11, we get a glimpse of what our favourite Moordale Secondary students [4] have been up to since setting up a sex clinic in their high school for confused classmates. According to Netflix, late bloomer Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield) [5] now finds himself struggling to "master his newly discovered sexual urges in order to progress with his girlfriend Ola," made more complicated by the fact that his mother's (Gillian Anderson) relationship with Ola's dad, Jakob (Mikael Persbrandt), is discovered. Oh, and Otis also has to attempt to navigate his now-strained relationship with Maeve Wiley (Emma Mackey), who realised all too late how she really feels about Otis. Fortunately she's still BFFs with Aimee (Aimee Lou Wood), so she has someone to lean on.
As for Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) [7], Netflix writes in the season two press release that he has newfound self-confidence that attracts "unfamiliar kinds of attention," which will be interesting once Adam (Connor Swindells) returns from military school, still conflicted by his feelings for him. To top things off, Moordale will experience a chlamydia outbreak just as a group of new kids come to town and "challenge the status quo." Can you say drama?
Season two of the Laurie Nunn-created series will return with eight new episodes at some point in 2020. In the meantime, check out the first-look photos ahead!

According to Netflix, Jackson (Kedar Willaims-Stirling) is "forced to flex his mental rather than physical muscle" in season two, and is still facing quite a bit of pressure from his parents.
Looks like Adam will be released from military school at some point in the second season.
Lily (Tanya Reynolds) will be taking a break from her sexual endeavours to "focus on her creative talents." She also strikes up a friendship with Otis's girlfriend, Ola (Patricia Allison).
Otis and Eric will connect with Mother Nature, apparently.
