The Sinner Season 3 Trailer

Matt Bomer and Chris Messina Lock Horns in the Tense Trailer For The Sinner Season 3

We finally have a look at the third season of The Sinner, and it's obvious that Detective Harry Ambrose will have his hands full. According to the official logline, the third instalment of the series follows Ambrose (Bill Pullman) as he dives into the investigation of a tragic car accident. Just like the mysteries of the previous two seasons, Ambrose will find himself unfolding a story that pulls him into "the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career."

The latest teaser gives fans a better look at Matt Bomer's character Jamie, "an upstanding Dorchester resident and expectant father who looks to Ambrose for support in the wake of an accident." In the footage, the schoolteacher clashes against Nick Haas, played by a sinisterly smirking Chris Messina, as Ambrose digs deeper into the mystery surrounding the two. Who exactly was the victim of the car accident and what does it have to do with the former college friends? We'll have to wait to find out!

Season three will also feature Parisa Fitz-Henley (Midnight, Texas) as Jamie's wife, Leela Burns; Jessica Hecht (Special) as Sonya, a painter who gets involved in the investigation after the accident occurs on her property; and Eddie Martinez (Orange Is the New Black) as Vic Soto, a detective who works alongside Ambrose to solve the case.

Another thing the teaser reveals is that fans are going to have to wait for the third instalment; the crime anthology's third season has been pushed back to premiere sometime in 2020. In the meantime, watch the trailers ahead and see if you can sift out any clues for the upcoming season!
