Splash Cast Reunion With Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah | Video

Tom Hanks, Daryl Hannah, and Eugene Levy Had a Virtual Splash Reunion After 35 Years!

Right up there with The Little Mermaid, Splash is one of those movies filled with magic that makes the possibility of turning into a mermaid feel just a little bit more real. During the most recent episode of Josh Gad's Reunited Apart YouTube series, the Frozen star brought together Tom Hanks, Daryl Hannah, Schitt's Creek star Eugene Levy, and more of the Splash crew to discuss some of the best moments from the 1984 film.

Director Ron Howard and producer Bryan Grazer also made an appearance to discuss some of the best behind-the-scenes moments from filming and what it took to make a film with special effects that holds up to this day. Hanks even revealed that Hannah spent hours being glued into her mermaid tail before filming. "I still have the scar," Hannah said before talking about what it was like to film her iconic underwater kiss scene with Hanks without any breathing masks. "It was hit or miss whether we got the signals or understood them," she said.

Toward the end of the video, Ryan Reynolds also made a special guest appearance to pay a sweet tribute to the late John Candy, who played Freddie Bauer, Allen's (Hanks) brother in the film. Watch the full video here to see the cast discuss what it was like getting paid to learn how to scuba dive and who rocked the best '80s hairstyle.
