Your Spotify podcast library is about to get a major power-up. On Thursday, the streaming giant announced a multiyear deal with Warner Bros. and DC comics to produce a slate of scripted, narrative podcasts based on your favourite superheroes [1]. The shows will be available exclusively on Spotify for both premium and free users.

"Spotify's deep engagement with its consumers and commitment to prioritising their podcast vertical makes them an ideal partner in this endeavour," Warner Bros. executives Robert Steele and Peter Girardi said in a joint statement. "We're excited to bring beloved characters and franchises from DC and Warner Bros. into this new world and to use our storytelling prowess to redefine what's possible in the scripted audio space."

So what's in store for DC devotees? The companies haven't disclosed which personas will be the focus of upcoming projects, but it's hard to imagine iconic characters like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman won't be a part of the action. We do know that there will be never-before-heard crossover events, which already sounds pretty epic.
