The Theories Were Right: Taylor Swift Is Dropping a Folklore Concert Film

24/11/2020 - 03:33 PM

The long holiday weekend just got even better thanks to Taylor Swift [1]. On Tuesday, the singer announced that she's dropping a concert film on Disney+ for her latest album [2] Folklore [3] on Nov. 25. The special, officially titled Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, will feature appearances from Swift, Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, and Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) as they perform and reveal the stories behind every single track on the album.

The news comes after Swifties went wild thinking that the singer, queen of Easter eggs [4], was hinting something big on her socials. One telling post was when Swift shared a photo of her in a cabin [5] on Nov. 22 with the caption, "Not a lot going on at the moment," a direct nod to the shirt she wears in her "22" music video. As fans noted, it's the same caption she used on April 27 [6] when she first started working on Folklore, plus she recently noted that 22 is Bon Iver's lucky number [7] in an interview with Rolling Stone.

While many theorized that Swift and Bon Iver were releasing a music video for their duet "Exile [10]," it appears that a concert film was the endgame all along. "Well it's 11/24 and 24-11=13 so I've got an announcement 🤓," Swift jokingly wrote on Twitter [11]. "You haven't seen this film before ✨ folklore: the long pond studio sessions will be out tonight at midnight PST on @DisneyPlus!" We can't wait!
