The Mandalorian: Did You Recognise All These Big Names in Episode 6?

16/12/2019 - 06:45 PM

The sixth episode of The Mandalorian [1] brings us face to face with a surprisingly big cast of guest stars. The episode sees our Mandalorian hero [2] team up with a motley crew of fellow mercenaries to carry out a job that will — hopefully — get him a payday to help support him and the Child [3] on the run [4]. Of course, he gets much more than he bargained for, but that's just par for the course at this point! What's unusual about this episode is just how guest-star heavy it is. With a full team of mercenaries (and their enemies) to flesh out, The Mandalorian cast several familiar faces for the episode. Ahead, check out all the guest stars and where you might have seen them before.

Natalia Tena as Xi'an

Harry Potter [5] fans will definitely recognise Tena — she played Tonks in several of the Potter movies!

Richard Ayoade as the voice of Zero

The British comedian lends his voice to the mercenary Zero. He's probably best known for his BAFTA-winning role on the comedy The IT Crowd.

Matt Lanter as Davan

Most recently seen on NBC's beloved time-travel drama Timeless, Lanter is actually not a newbie to the Star Wars universe. In the 2008 animated film The Clone Wars and the spinoff animated series of the same name, Lanter is the voice of Anakin Skywalker.

Mark Boone Jr. as Ranzar Malk

Boone's résumé is quite lengthy, with several roles on major projects including Sons of Anarchy [6], Memento, and Batman Begins.

Bill Burr as Mayfeld

Burr has mostly done comedic work in the past, including Kroll Show and F Is For Family, but he's also done drama: he had a recurring role as Kuby on Breaking Bad.

Ismael Cruz Córdova as Qin

If you caught last year's Mary Queen of Scots, you might recognise him as David Rizzio. He's also got a pretty cool project on his résumé: several episodes of Sesame Street!

Clancy Brown as Burg

Currently starring on the ABC sci-fi series Emergence, he has quite the résumé in the sci-fi world, lending his voice to a slew of animated series, although his most notable role isn't science fiction: it's voicing SpongeBob's Mr. Krabs! He also voiced a Mandalorian bounty hunter and commando in the Clone Wars TV series.

Dave Filoni as Trapper Wolf

Although you may not recognise his face, Star Wars fans will definitely recognise Filoni's voice: he's been a staple on several animated shows in the extended canon, including as C1-10P in Rebels and Forces of Destiny and as Bo Keevil in Star Wars Resistance. He's also penned episodes of all of the above series and wrote episode five of The Mandalorian.

Rick Famuyiwa as Jib Dodger

Famuyiwa actually pulled double duty in episode six as a guest actor and the episode's director!

Deborah Chow as Sash Ketter

Chow's role on The Mandalorian won't be her last foray into the Star Wars universe. She's slated to direct episodes of the upcoming series focussed on Obi-Wan Kenobi.
