The Proud Family Is All Grown Up in These First-Look Photos of the Reboot

The Proud family is coming back with a new series titled The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder [1], and we finally have the first look! On Thursday, Disney+ shared photos of the characters on the reboot, as well as what they have been up to since the original series ended in 2005. While Penny Proud is now 14 years old and "loving it," her mom Trudy Proud runs her own veterinary clinic and her father Oscar Proud is "more overbearing than ever." Additionally, we also a glimpse of Keke Palmer's character, Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins, who is described as "the new kid on the block."

While we haven't gotten an official release date for the new series, we can already tell it's going to be epic. When Kyla Pratt, aka the voice of Penny Proud, talked with POPSUGAR recently, she teased that reboot is going to be "amazing [2]" for old fans and new ones. "The people who loved watching the original will absolutely love watching the reboot," she said. "And it's going to introduce it to people who hadn't seen the original! I love it because we're talking about things that animated shows normally don't talk about, and I think that's something that we need."
