"Dawn FM [1]" is The Weeknd [2]'s project that keeps on giving. On 21 Feb., the 32-year-old artist revealed his fifth album is getting an Amazon Prime Video special. "Next phase has begun… 'Dawn FM Experience' premieres February 26," he shared on Instagram [3]. A teaser for "Dawn FM Experience" shows The Weeknd's older persona [4] stumbling through an alleyway before he collapses.
We can only expect the unexpected as the TV special is going to air live. In a press release, The Weeknd described it as "a purgatory otherworld where live performance, theatre, and performance art collide for a night out at the club." Following its release, an eight-track live EP will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime.
The Weeknd's Prime Video special comes a month after he teased a trilogy of music [5]. "i wonder... did you know you're experiencing a new trilogy?" he tweeted [6]. Fans in a Reddit thread [7] predicted it includes his 2020 "After Hours" album [8], "Dawn FM," and a future album possibly titled "After Life." Maybe he'll give us a sneak peek in his Prime Video special?
