Doc Antle With Tiger In Britney Spears’ 2001 VMA Performance

Yep, That's Doc Antle Wrangling a Tiger During Britney Spears's Iconic 2001 VMA Performance

By now, we'll assume that most of you have binge-watched Netflix's latest docuseries, Tiger King. It was a wild ride, for sure, and oddly, that had a lot more to do with the outlandish characters than with the plethora of exotic animals and big cats featured on the show. Doc Antle was one of those incredibly . . . unique characters. In short, he owns a wild cat park in Myrtle Beach, SC, and has been in the cat business for decades.

Well, it appears that Antle has also been in the entertainment industry for a long time. And even though he told us this in Tiger King, I was still completely shocked when Buzzfeed reported he was on stage with Britney Spears during her 2001 VMAs performance of "I'm a Slave 4 U." In the very same performance that Spears rocked around the stage holding a huge yellow Burmese python (yep, you know the one), Antle is standing in a cage, wrangling a huge tiger.

Keep reading to relive Britney Spears's iconic performance with the new knowledge that Doc Antle has been in our lives for much longer than we all originally thought.
