A Christmas Carol Official Trailer
From the creators of Peaky Blinders, the classic ghost story of A Christmas Carol is coming to BBC One this December as a three-part miniseries.
The series is truly a joint effort. Produced by the BBC, FX Productions, and Hardy Son & Baker, it's also written and executive produced by Peaky Blinders's Steven Knight and executive produced by Tom Hardy and Ridley Scott, along with their large production teams.
Based on the iconic 1843 novella by Charles Dickens, the tale of A Christmas Carol is a classic one. The story has been told many times over but is best known for the 1984 movie adaptation. Based on the official trailer, the upcoming 2019 retelling appears to be quite true to the original story. "This production of A Christmas Carol will respectfully present what we believe to be a timely interpretation of a timeless story," Knight said in a BBC press release in May 2019.
The cast is full of familiar faces, and when the trailer dropped in October, we finally got our first look at Guy Pearce in character as Ebenezer Scrooge, and Andy Serkis (who played the villain, Ulysses Klaue, in Black Panther) joins as the Ghost of Christmas Past.
The three-part series will premiere on BBC One on Dec. 22 at 9 p.m. and will be followed by episodes two and three on Dec. 23 a 9.05 p.m. and Dec. 24 at 9 p.m. respectively. You can catch the full trailer above.
