Did Vision Really Give Wanda the Westview Deed? We're Not Entirely Convinced

WandaVision [1] only has one more episode left this season, and with every answer we get, another question pops up in its place. Throughout this season, one of the biggest questions we've had on our minds is: how exactly did Wanda and Vision get to the seemingly idyllic town of Westview in the first place? Well, in episode eight, some of that starts coming to light as Wanda watches flashbacks of her life. In addition to seeing what really went down when she visited Vision's body at S.W.O.R.D. headquarters [2], we learn that she moved to Westview after receiving a property deed.

When Wanda leaves S.W.O.R.D., we see an envelope placed in the passenger's seat of her car as she drives to New Jersey. Once there, she pulls up to an empty lot and opens the letter, revealing that it's actually a deed to the property. So, who exactly sent it to her? If you look closely, the grantees are listed as both Wanda and Vision. The piece of paper also has writing in red ink that reads, "To grow old in V." with a heart around it.

While the most obvious guess is that Vision bought the lot for the two of them to build a house together, we're not entirely convinced. After watching these first eight episodes, we now know that not everything is what it seems. Even though Agatha Harkness is the show's big bad [3] (at least for the moment), it appears that she wasn't aware of Wanda and her powers until after she created the hex.

So, that leaves Director Tyler Hayward as another suspect. After all, he did lie about Wanda stealing Vision's body from S.W.O.R.D., so we know he's not trustworthy. Perhaps after leaving S.W.O.R.D. headquarters, he gave her the deed, hoping it would set off Wanda to use chaos magic and eventually help S.W.O.R.D. get Vision back online. I mean, and that is what ended up happening.

Of course, there could be a third big bad looming that we don't even know about yet. These past few episodes, many fans have spectated that the demon Chthon will be making an appearance [4]. Is the mysterious deed simply setting us up for Chthon's arrival in the very final episode? We guess we'll have to wait and see!
