Watch Ariana Grande and James Corden's Hairspray Parody

This Hairspray Parody Further Confirms That Ariana Grande Absolutely Belongs on Broadway

Ariana Grande is a musical-theatre nerd at heart, and in case you needed some reminding, a new Broadway-inspired late-night sketch is here to remind you. The singer recently appeared in a Late Late Show parody with host James Corden celebrating the removal of many COVID-19 restrictions in several states following encourageing vaccination rates.

Set to the tune of "Good Morning Baltimore" from Hairspray, "No Lockdowns Anymore" has all the topical buzzwords: Zoom, Anthony Fauci, and . . . NFTs? (No, they don't know what those are all about either.) You might recall that Grande previously Penny Pingleton in the 2016 Hairspray Live! special. The parody also features an appearance by Marissa Jaret Winokur, who portrayed Tracy Turnblad in the original production. The entire musical number is worth watching above, but especially for this highly relatable line: "No more sweatpants or Zooming in, while I really watch Bridgerton."
