Come Feb. 2, music megastars Shakira [1] and Jennifer Lopez [2] will both grace the stage and co-headline the halftime show together [3] at Super Bowl LIV. Taking place in Miami, the Latin superstars are set to perform what is sure to be one energized and exciting set that will follow in the footsteps of other stars who have set foot on the halftime stage in years past. The show-stopping duo likely have some surprises stored up their bedazzled sleeves (we can only assume Pitbull [4] will be making some sort of appearance) and many can't help but wonder what the two will perform come the night of their big performance. From iconic hits that shaped their careers to fan-favourite songs, here is a compilation of songs we hope Lopez and Shakira [5] sing, at what will surely be another iconic Super Bowl performance.
"On the Floor" by Jennifer Lopez
Imagine this: The halftime show begins with a dark view of the stage. The instrumental music to Jennifer Lopez [6]'s hit "On the Floor" begins to play as the lights slowly come up and her dancers make their way to the stage. Suddenly, a flash of light appears and standing on the middle of the stage is none other than J Lo herself. Singing the open lyric of "On the Floor," Lopez quips, "Let me introduce you to my party people," as the beat comes in and she and her dancers begin to strut their stuff, setting the tone for the exciting performance that is to come.
"Let's Get Loud" by Jennifer Lopez
Following "On the Floor," Lopez is ready to get the crowd pumped — if they aren't already — and what better way to do so than with her iconic hit, "Let's Get Loud." The brassy tune, which many consider to be her signature song, will bring fans back to the '90s and have them dancing in their seats.
"Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira
Next, the lights will dim and the intro to Shakira [7]'s infamous "Hips Don't Lie" will begin to play. Shakira will rise to the centre of the stage and sing her infectious tune as she dances across the stage with her own set of backup dancers in tow.
"Whenever, Wherever" by Shakira
Transitioning from "Hips Don't Lie," Shakira [8] will then begin to perform "Whenever, Wherever" for the crowd. With lasers shining across the stage, the songstress will effortlessly let her vocals and extraordinary dance moves take centre stage as Lopez does a quick costume change backstage.
"Dinero" by Jennifer Lopez
Lopez will then come back out and join Shakira [9] on stage and sing her more recent tune "Dinero," to begin a medley of Spanish language songs that the duo will sing back to back together.
"La Tortura" by Shakira
Following Lopez's performance of "Dinero," Shakira [10] will take a turn in the spotlight singing one of her own Spanish hits, and what better song to perform than "La Tortura"? After Shakira finishes, J Lo will sing another Spanish song in an effort to celebrate their heritage and bring some Latin heat to the half time stage.
"Jenny From the Block" by Jennifer Lopez
Following the two divas' Spanish medley, Lopez will take the stage solo once more to remind viewers that she's still Jenny from the Block. With stunning background visuals and some killer dance moves, Lopez will admirably pay tribute to her hometown where she was born and raised.
"She Wolf" by Shakira
Shakira [11] will then follow up and take one final solo moment on stage and sing her 2009 tune "She Wolf" before the grand finale. It would be fun to watch Shakira re-create the music video that accompanied the song and have herself and her dancers dancing on stage in cages.
"Live It Up" by Jennifer Lopez
Lopez will then head back on stage and perform her iconic smash hit, "Live It Up" with Shakira [12] and special guest Pitbull. Pitbull has worked closely with both Shakira and Lopez and has close ties to the city of Miami (I mean, he is Mr. 305) and would bring some extra spice to an already out of this world performance. Together the three would close the show and mark what would go down as one of the best Super Bowl Halftime performances in history.
