If It Wasn't For Hailey Bieber, These Songs Probably Wouldn't Exist

The track — which was the first single from Bieber's Changes album — is a tribute to his sex life with Hailey. During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in January, Ellen DeGeneres asked Bieber what he was thinking about when he wrote it, to which he casually replied, "My sex life." "It is what it is, right? I'm married," he added. "It is what it is."

While Bieber has yet to confirm that "Intentions" is, in fact, about Hailey, the lyrics all seem to point to her. In his Seasons YouTube documentary, Hailey jokes about being "the muse" of the whole album, and in the song, Bieber sings, "When I create, you're my muse / That kind of smile that makes the news." He also seems to make a reference to her engagement ring when he sings, "Got that ring, just like Toronto."

Even though the ballad didn't make it on the Changes album, Bieber previewed the song in his Seasons docuseries. "This one over here, Hailey, every time I do something stupid she forgives me," Bieber explained. "This girl forgives me left and right. I'm a damn nightmare." We wonder if Bieber ever plans to release it.

Bieber starts the LP by expressing his gratitude for Hailey, singing, "Never thought I could ever be loyal / To someone other than myself / I never thought I could ever be a spoiler / Guess anything is possible with your help / Anything's possible since you made my heart melt / Gave me the best hand that I'd ever been dealt."

On this track, Bieber talks about the physical and emotional connections he shares with his wife. "Aggressive but softly, you place your lips on my lips," he says. "We're each other's vice / Our feelings, they go deep, deeper than the touching." In episode three of Seasons Bieber reveals that this is one of his favorite songs on the album.

It's clear that Bieber and Hailey often show their love for each other, but the singer still yearns for more of her attention. "When you come around me / Treat me like you miss me," Bieber croons. "Even though you've been with me." The lyrics even get a little steamy as he continues, "Diggin' the way you feel on my skin / Got influence on me, can't comprehend / Oh no, next thing, you're on top of me / Okay with this, I call that a win-win."

Sure, Bieber and Hailey have busy lives, but they're still willing to make time for each other. "I'm available / Yeah, for you I am," Bieber beams on the sixth track. "Don't mean to sound desperate / But you made it like this / Say I'm number one on your to-do list / I'm available."

Bieber basically says his vows in "Forever" as he talks about spending the rest of his life with Hailey. "Would you be here with me forever, ever, ever?" he asks. "Wakin' up all alone ain't better, better, better." Bieber also addresses some of the road bumps they've experienced in their relationship, revealing Hailey once thought he cheated on her. "When you asked me if I cheated, I said never," he sings. "What are you willing to do to stay together? / How many times we gonna break up before the Summer? / How many times you gonna try to call my mother?"

Thanks to Hailey, Bieber's outlook on love completely transformed in the best way. "Thought love at first sight was just a false pretense / Took my hat off, made me pledge allegiance / Everything was in divine sequence," he says in "Running Over." He also recalls the moment they first met and how nervous he was.

Just like any relationship, Bieber and Hailey have their bad days. But, as Bieber affirms on this song, he's willing to listen to his wife and be a shoulder for her to cry on. "Let your frustrations out right here," he insists. "I'm your psychiatrist, let's talk about it / We can use sign language, I know your body."

Trying to balance work and his relationship, Bieber admits that he struggles with prioritizing certain aspects of his life. Rather than jetting off somewhere without a second thought, he thinks of spending more time with Hailey. "Try to bite my tongue, but I can't take it / I got whiplash from me turning my head," he confesses. "Have somewhere else to go, no, I can't make it / I'd rather take my chance with you instead."

This soulful tune features a very grateful Bieber. He knows that Hailey understands him like no one else, which makes their relationship even stronger. He believes Hailey's willingness to share her emotions proves that she trusts him, and the feeling is reciprocated. "Judging by the way you open up, you get me / Out of this world, hands on, baby, now you send me / Looking at the way we're blending in, you get me," he gushes.

Bieber describes the anticipation of seeing Hailey after they've spent some time apart, saying, "I just wanna know your ETA, ETA / Out the window, got me looking out the street / What's your ETA? / Distance only made us grow fonder / Of one another."

Reflecting on how he's evolved as a person, Bieber attributes much of the positive change in his life to Hailey. "I just wanna be the best of me," he belts. "Even though sometimes I forget to breathe / So that I can be the best for you / That's all I wanna do." Bieber has echoed this sentiment a handful of times before. In a lengthy September Instagram post, he opened up about how marriage has made an important impact on him. "You learn patience, trust, commitment, kindness, humility and all of the things it looks like to be a good man," he wrote.

This track is heavily focused on Bieber's desire to slow down and cherish life's precious moments without worrying about the future. He still alludes to Hailey when he sings, "All you ever really want / Or all you ever really need is at home."

Bieber again shares how Hailey helped him see love in a different light. "When you demand my presence, it's hard to read the message / I stay on the defense to take away your leverage," he admits. "Till you put it in perspective / Can't help but to respect it / Oh, now I know what love is."

Nothing compares to a quiet night in with your significant other. On this jam, Bieber details a low-key relaxation session with Hailey. "You sip Champagne while I sip on red wine
