Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's "WAP" song [1] was one of the biggest hits of 2020, so fans were up in arms when it wasn't nominated for a Grammy [2] earlier this month. Since it was released during the eligibility period, many fans took it as yet another big snub [3], however, that isn't exactly the case. It turns out, Cardi B actually didn't submit the song for Grammy consideration [4].

In a recent Instagram Live, the rapper explained why she didn't submit the song for a Grammy saying, "Like I said, I never pressed for a Grammy, but y'all not gonna take away something that I know I worked my ass off [for], that I deserve." She also noted that she didn't want to submit herself for award shows until her full album was out, because the "album is so good." "I worked on it a lot," she added. "I've been working on it for almost two years. And some songs are just so emotional to me because I did them during quarantine."

Following the success of Invasion of Privacy, fans have been anxiously awaiting Cardi B's followup album. Not only did the album put her on the map as a rapper, but it also received quite a few accolades, including her very first Grammy. In 2018, Cardi B made history as the first woman to win best rap album as a solo artist. Needless to say, we can't wait to hear what she has in store next!
