Lenox Hill Hasn't Been Renewed Yet, but We Already Have a Good Idea What It Would Be About

Netflix's latest show, Lenox Hill, is showing the incredible work doctors do every day. The docuseries, which premiered on June 10, follows four doctors who work at the renowned Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. Not only does it document their work at the hospital and the patients they treat, but it also delves into their personal stories as well. It's basically a real-life Grey's Anatomy.

With only eight episodes in the first season, viewers are already curious if the show will be renewed for another season. While Netflix hasn't officially announced anything yet, the positive reviews definitely look promising. The show shines a much-deserved spotlight on frontline workers, which is incredibly timely right now amid the coronavirus epidemic.

Though the first season was filmed sometime between 2018 and 2019, it's possible that a second season could revolve around the ongoing epidemic and how has affected frontline workers at the Lenox Hill hospital. "I think that viewers are more curious — now, more than ever — about what happens in hospitals, particularly here in New York City, because of COVID," Dr. John Boockvar told the New York Post about the release of Lenox Hill. "I think, frankly, the docuseries is coming at a very opportune time because there's a thirst, a real appetite for what health-care heroes do on a day-to-day basis."

"We have changed as a health-care industry, as physicians, as nurses, as respiratory therapists — we're all different," he added. "We've improved in a lot of ways what we know were inefficiencies in the health-care system prior to the coronavirus. So, frankly, we're more efficient now than we were before COVID. We have safety measures in place that we didn't have before COVID."
