God Save McQueen! Get Your Tickets For the Most Anticipated Fashion Exhibition
With his provocative, innovative, and absolutely extraordinary designs, Lee Alexander McQueen was one of the most celebrated designers of our time. In a major retrospective, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London will host an exhibition featuring more than 200 ensembles and accessories of the late designer. While the doors to the spectacle won't open until March 2015, the museum has already sold more than 16,000 tickets. So you'd better get your hands on them soon before they're all gone!
The Savage Beauty exhibition was initially staged in New York back in 2011 and also became the theme of the Met Gala that year. But with Lee Alexander McQueen having been one of our own, the presentation in London will include additional garments and focus on the early development of the British designer. You can even expect to see some of the looks he showed for his graduate collection at Central Saint Martins. We're struggling to wait another five months and have therefore compiled our very own retrospective of Lee's most iconic designs to tide us over. As the brand is also a celebrity favourite under the creative direction of his successor Sarah Burton (do we even need to mention the Duchess of Cambridge's wedding dress?), keep on reading to see the latest designs, too.
