Alexander Wang unveiled his resort 2011 collection (pictured) earlier this week and used the occasion to reveal his plans to expand his line. The designer spoke about launching a new collection of essentials. He explained, "After last season we started looking at our carry-over business, what our customers come back for again and again. There's also this perception that we're very young. Going to trunk shows, women always say, 'Oh my gosh, I love your brand.' This is our way of being more democratic."
The initial line will include three pairs of trousers, two jackets and a flat-front shirt. It will be quite different to the T line, as Wang hinted at more of a focus of tailoring. "I don't want to say [the new line] is based on tailoring or business attire, but they're two different focuses." Are you excited for this addition to Wang's empire?
