Audrey Hepburn Would Be All Over Zac Posen's Spring Collection
What's black and white and red all over? If you answered "the newspaper," then you haven't been paying attention to the runways well enough. The correct response? Zac Posen Spring 2015. The designer's latest collection included only those three colours — and just in solids, no prints or combinations.
Such laser-focused editing, coupled with his knack for creating heavily sculptured silhouettes, led to a lineup that seemed perfect for a bygone era of elegant, classic dressing. In fact, save for one gorgeous caped gown that referenced his previous Charles James-inspired ready-to-wear lineup, it looked as though he was trying to clothe a stream of Audrey Hepburns. (That is, despite the fact that Coco Rocha walked the runway three times!) From off-the-shoulder tulip frocks to bold cigarette pants to mod boat-neck dresses, he had a clear vision. And somehow, that vision — and those three simple colours — combined sexiness, comfort, and class all in one.
