Every season deserves its own look — and Autumn 2019's is already here, thanks to the runways at Fashion Week [1]. New York delivered a colour-filled lineup, animal prints that get even wilder next season, and a coat trend that's begging to be accompanied with your biggest cup of hot chocolate — it's that deliciously cosy. We know, it's almost Spring and all — but if like us, you can't wait to see what's next, we've got your Autumn forecast right here. Read on for the five runway trends we'll all be wearing come September.

Autumn Fashion Trends 2019: Shades of Green

While we've enjoyed wearing pastels and sorbets for the past few seasons, Fall brings a change in palette. This rich green colour is a deep jade or a bright teal, depending on how your eyes see it. It was splashed into tie-dye patterns at Prabal Gurung and took the form of a full suit at Tibi. If you need new statement outerwear, we highly suggest shopping the hue, and if you need an evening dress, look no further than Marc Jacobs for inspiration.

Autumn Fashion Trends 2019: Punk Plaid

Plaid has become such a classic print in our wardrobes, we barely blink an eye when we look at it. But the way it's styled for Fall made us stop in our tracks. There's a clear throwback to the '90s now, so layer your dark checks over hoodies or roll up your tough trousers to reveal combat boots. Mix in leather where you can for an extra dose of edge, and act like a rebel child for the day.

Autumn Fashion Trends 2019: Wild Prints

There's nothing new about animal prints on the runway, but this season designers have given it a much wilder spin. While these prints have often been considered as neutrals, these latest iterations are made to stand out. From purple snakeskin-print leather trench coats to asymmetrical Zebra-print gowns, these styles will make you want to talk a walk on the wild side.

Autumn Fashion Trends 2019: The Maxi Skirt

Designers channelled the '90s yet again, this time taking skirts to all out maxi lengths. The return of the denim maxi might give you Delia's catalogue vibes; in leather, they feel sophisticated — with a Western flair — and in taffeta or evening-ready styles, we're having flashbacks to Gwyneth Paltrow [4]'s '99 Golden Globes look. In any case, these lengths will bring the drama to whatever else you put on.

Autumn Fashion Trends 2019: Modern Romance

Ruffled necklines and bow finishes were in abundance on the Fall runways, but they all came with a contemporary twist. At Brock Collection, the silhouette was splashed with a quirky graphic print and at Chloé, dark denim balanced out a Victorian blouse. No matter how you cut it, there are ways to bring modern edge to your romantic look.

Autumn Fashion Trends 2019: Midnight Sequins

While rainbow sequins reigned supreme last season, designers created a sexy new alternative to add some sparkle to their designs: midnight sequins. Tory Burch found a way to make a navy sequined midi dress look more casual with an orange hoodie underneath, while Emoporio Armani upped the ante with a sheer sequined number that's sure to turn heads.

Autumn Fashion Trends 2019: Head-to-Toe Leather

Leather separates have long been a fixture in our Fall and Winter wardrobes, but the 2019 lineup doesn't offer just leather pieces to mix and match. Designers are giving us full leather-on-leather looks, whether they come in the form of suit separates, skirts and tops, or pants and a coordinating coat — these pieces are better together.

Autumn Fashion Trends 2019: The Belted Trench Coat

Cinched at the waist with belts and sashes, trench coat silhouettes are the outerwear you'll see all over this Fall. Finished in plaids, mixed materials, and lots of leather, the classic silhouette is reimagined with contemporary twists. We love the addition of exaggerated shoulders, oversized lapels, and contrasting materials that breathe new life into a staple.
